This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of all services provided by Bagful International LLP ("Bagful", "we", "us"), including shared hosting, VPS, dedicated servers, cloud infrastructure, email, and related services. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.
We operate shared infrastructure that serves hundreds of businesses. This policy exists to protect every client on our platform and to maintain the security, performance, and reputation of our network.
1. Prohibited Content
You may not host, distribute, link to, or facilitate access to content that:
- Violates any applicable law in India or the jurisdiction where the content is accessed
- Infringes on the intellectual property rights of any third party (copyright, trademark, patent)
- Contains or distributes malware, ransomware, viruses, trojans, or any other malicious software
- Hosts phishing pages, credential-harvesting forms, or fraud schemes
- Contains child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — reported immediately to authorities with zero tolerance
- Promotes violence, terrorism, or incites hatred against any individual or group
- Constitutes defamation, harassment, or threats against individuals
- Distributes personal information of others without their consent (doxxing)
2. Prohibited Activities
Spam and Unsolicited Communication
You may not use our services to send unsolicited bulk email, SMS, or messages of any kind. This includes:
- Sending email to purchased, scraped, or harvested mailing lists
- Operating open mail relays or open proxy servers
- Sending messages that disguise the origin or sender identity
- Using our email services to send more than 500 messages per hour on shared hosting without prior arrangement
Legitimate transactional email (order confirmations, password resets, account notifications) and opt-in marketing email with clear unsubscribe mechanisms are permitted.
Network Abuse
You may not:
- Launch or participate in denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks from our infrastructure
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any server, account, or network (including port scanning, vulnerability scanning, or brute-force attacks against systems you do not own)
- Intercept or monitor network traffic not intended for your services
- Forge packet headers, email headers, or any part of a message to disguise origin
- Operate Tor exit nodes, open proxies, or anonymising services on shared or VPS infrastructure without written approval
Resource Abuse
On shared hosting plans, your resource usage must not negatively impact other users on the same server. Specifically:
- CPU, memory, and I/O usage must stay within the limits of your plan. Sustained usage that degrades server performance for other users will result in a warning followed by throttling or suspension
- Cryptocurrency mining is not permitted on shared or VPS plans. Dedicated server clients may mine only with explicit written approval and at their own electrical cost
- Running background daemons, bots, or persistent processes on shared hosting is not permitted
- Excessive inode usage (hundreds of thousands of small files) on shared plans may be restricted
VPS and dedicated server clients have greater flexibility within their allocated resources but remain subject to all other provisions of this policy.
3. Domain-Specific Rules
Domain names registered or managed through Bagful must comply with the policies of the relevant registry (ICANN, .IN Registry, etc.). You may not register domains primarily for:
- Cybersquatting or trademark infringement
- Phishing, fraud, or impersonation
- Speculative mass registration with intent to resell at inflated prices (domaining for legitimate resale is permitted)
4. Email-Specific Rules
For Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, BagfulPro Mail, and dedicated email server clients:
- Maintain proper SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records for your domain
- Monitor your bounce rate — accounts with sustained bounce rates above 5% will be reviewed
- Do not use business email services as bulk mailing platforms. For high-volume sending, use a dedicated email marketing service
- Report any suspected compromise of your email accounts immediately
5. Security Responsibilities
You are responsible for the security of your own applications, websites, and accounts. This includes:
- Keeping all software (CMS, plugins, themes, scripts) updated to the latest stable versions
- Using strong, unique passwords for all accounts
- Implementing appropriate file permissions (no 777 permissions on web-accessible directories)
- Responding promptly to security notifications from our team
We offer Imunify360, SSL certificates, and Sophos Interceptor X to help secure your services — but security is a shared responsibility. We protect the infrastructure; you protect your applications.
6. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation of this policy — whether by your own account, another Bagful customer, or an external party targeting our infrastructure — report it immediately to support@bagful.net.
We investigate all abuse reports and respond within 24 hours. Reports involving CSAM, active phishing, or ongoing attacks are prioritised and handled immediately.
7. Enforcement
Violations of this policy are handled proportionally based on severity:
- First offence (minor): Written warning with instructions to resolve within 24–48 hours
- Repeated or unresolved violations: Service suspension until the issue is resolved
- Severe violations (malware distribution, DDoS, CSAM, active fraud): Immediate suspension without prior warning, data preserved for 7 days for retrieval of legitimate content
- Criminal activity: Immediate termination, data preserved as evidence, and reported to relevant authorities
In all cases, we will attempt to contact you and explain the reason for any action taken. Suspended accounts remain billable unless formally cancelled.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP as technology, threats, and regulations evolve. Material changes will be communicated to active clients via email at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
